Montessori & Special Needs Workshop – Working with the Student with ASD
Expressions of interest are now open for the NSW Montessori and Special Needs Workshop, Working with the Student with ASD. This interactive workshop is relevant for staff of Stage 1, 2 and 3 rooms in a Montessori educational environment with children using the methods and materials based on Dr Maria Montessori’s philosophy.
Montessori environments are increasingly supporting students with a myriad of issues and unless we know where to look for help and how to approach a student with a diagnosed problem, our life as a guide can get very stressful.
This workshop will cover a number of topics that are relevant to today’s environment. Topics will include but are not limited to:
- The 3 levels of ASD and what they can look like in your environment.
- ASD and girls, how this presents in your environment.
- Sensory feedback issues.
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
- Literacy and ASD
- NDIS and educational activities.
