This interactive Workshop is presented by the Montessori Institute which has offered external study courses in Australia since 1983. It is open to teachers, classroom assistants, students and anyone interested in working in a Montessori educational environment with children using the methods and materials based on Dr Maria Montessori’s philosophy. There will be detailed instruction which assists the child’s understanding of Environments for the 0-3yrs and 3-6yrs age group. Sessions will also provide opportunities for gathering and sharing information and ideas.
Preparation of the Environment: People, Space, Object
- Furniture
- Creating functional areas (sleeping/eating/entrance/movement/curricular etc.)
- Choosing materials/activities
- Maintenance
- Practicalities of Running a Classroom
