ONLINE Creating & Enhancing the Prepared Environments

“The first aim of the prepared environment is, as far as it is possible, to render the growing child independent of the adult” (Montessori, 1966).

This interactive Workshop is presented by the Montessori Institute which has offered external study courses in Australia since 1983. These workshops are open to teachers, classroom assistants, students, parents and anyone interested in working in a Montessori educational environment with children using the Montessori approach and materials. Build your understanding of the importance and key consideration for the preparation of the 0-3yrs environment in relation to people, spaces and objects. In particular:

  • Furniture
  • Creating functional areas (sleeping/eating/entrance/movement/curricular etc.)
  • Choosing materials/activities
  • Maintenance
  • Practicalities of Running a Classroom

Sessions will also provide opportunities for gathering and sharing information and ideas.
